FAQ

Who is this class for?
Teens and adults ages 13 and up (about 8th grade and older). All experience levels are welcome.
What style of Wing Chun do you teach?
We teach a blend of Yip Man and mainland Wing Chun, with Shaolin stances and body conditioning. The goal is practical skill, strong structure, and modern training methods — not a single textbook lineage for show. Beginners start with fundamentals; advanced work is by invitation as you progress.
When and where is class?
Tuesday 6:00–7:00 pm at St. Luke’s Church Youth Building, 3810 Ridgewood Road, Copley, OH 44321 (back / youth building). One weekly class.
Who teaches?
Adam Boyer is the head teacher for Akron Wing Chun. He co-founded Victory Defense Systems with Karen Boyer in 2007 and has trained Wing Chun since 1999.
Do I need prior martial arts experience?
No. Everyone starts as a beginner. Accelerated and advanced training is by invitation as you grow through the open-hand forms.
How does payment work?
Register online, then choose a monthly PayPal plan for the Tuesday class. There is a one-time signup fee on the first month. Details are on the Tuition page.
Is this related to Victory Defense Systems?
Yes. Akron Wing Chun is the teen/adult Wing Chun program of Victory Defense Systems. Kids Kung Fu (ages 3–12) is on the family site.
